Norman Close, St Albans

St Albans District Council identified a need for larger affordable family homes to meet the demands of their housing waiting list, as well as a general requirement for affordable homes in the city.

Our proposal is for 13 three- and four- bedroom houses and one fully wheelchair accessible two-bedroom bungalow, with associated car parking, landscaping and private gardens. Providing these larger sized family homes on this site will free up one and two bedroom houses elsewhere that could be better allocated to smaller family sizes across the city.

The project seeks to introduce a new architectural identity and community whilst integrating with the existing surrounding residential neighbourhood.

The new homes will be timber framed with air sourced heat pumps (ASHP) to provide more sustainable heating.
