Psychology Department, New Cavendish Street Campus, University of Westminster

The new facilities create the appropriate level of privacy between staff members, introduces one-to-one staff and student learning areas alongside dedicated group learning zones and new laboratories including small booths, qualitative and sound attenuation labs.

The department's brief was for a distinctly different feel to the rest of the campus, a separate identity - a 'brand'. The crisp, clean, white 'laboratory' feel contrasts with the exposed raw finishes and services of the building and is complimented by accents of bold colour bringing warmth and focus to specific learning areas.

The new layout sees perimeter offices with glazed partitions arranged around the central, social learning area with natural light spilling deep into the floor plan creating a professional learning space.
