RT were originally appointed by the College of North West London to assist in evaluating their estates strategy as a key part of a successful grant application to the Learning & Skills Council.
The resulting Kilburn Centre is an exciting five-storey learning facility on a site opposite the College’s existing Kilburn facility.
In briefing terms, the building is a straight replacement – providing a new modern facility in place of the existing, unsuitable and inappropriate space.
RT consulted closely with the College’s various User Groups to understand the needs of the College and to create a building that met their needs, maintaining the College’s good reputation and strong position within the local community.
The building was awarded an RIBA/LSC Design Quality Award.
