Hall Grove

Welwyn Garden City

Our design proposal delivers 9no. new build homes including 3no. 2-bed bungalows, 5no. 2-bed houses and 1no. 2-bed flat above a new community hall building.

The development replaces a church building no longer used, and a single house. The Diocese were to sell the land for development to bring in some new income whilst delivering a new community building.

The site is split into a front and back, the front facing the main road and with a more urban feel with terraced two storey houses, the community hall and associated parking. The rear of the site is accessed from a quieter road and contains more trees which our scheme retains. This half of the site contains the detached bungalows and 1.5 storey houses, giving a more spacious and rural feel. The two halves are linked with a pedestrian footpath through the site.

The houses are contemporary in their look, with high quality finishes, plenty of natural light and space. The Community hall has a similar style but stands out with grander proportions and a different colour.

The hall is designed for Diocese use, including a flexible space for meetings and events.
