Ventress Close is Rock Townsend’s second site Cambridge Investment Partnerships’ look to develop for the City.
This proposal forms part of a city wide new-build, affordable housing programme to meet the existing and predicted housing needs of City as set out within Cambridge City Council’s Interim Housing Strategy 2017.
The proposal is for the demolition of 4 maisonettes and the construction of 15 new dwellings - 12 one and two bedroom flats and 3 three bedroom houses.
The low-rise neighbouring properties and the utilities crossing the site have resulted in a more interesting site layout and design solution that may otherwise have been achieved.
The three bedroom houses line the south west of the new road access that sits over the existing mains drainage and water supply route crossing the site. The 2-3 storey flats on the north east of site front Ventress Close and creating a new neighbourhood whilst integrating into the existing street scene.
