The Telford Building (CNWL)

In designing this state-of-the-art technical teaching building for the College of North West London in Willesden, RT challenged the presumption that such accommodation needs to be single storey.  The resulting five storey building released valuable college land for other uses. Double height bays and purpose built spaces are provided for specific disciplines such as Plumbing, Manufacturing and Engineering, with the design allowing the building itself to become an essential teaching tool.

By integrating many disciplines that are generally separated, the internal layout encourages interaction between the courses, creating an awareness in the students of the whole construction process.

The new landmark building powerfully promotes the College and its technical courses.
