This proposal forms part of a city wide new-build, affordable housing programme to meet the existing and predicted housing needs of City as set out within Cambridge City Council’s Interim Housing Strategy 2017.
The third site for Cambridge Investment Partnerships, Markham Close garage court sits adjacent to an existing 1950’s flatted building and to the rear of privately owned 2 storey houses. Initial studies looked at combining the empty garage site with the adjacent flats. However the resulting design focused solely on the garage site, a source of anti-social behaviour, to provide 5 new one and two bedroom flats for the Council.
