Farrington Avenue project was all about harnessing the energy of a large group of local residents to help make it happen. Resident engagement began from initial concept design with 40 families finally moving from old flats into new family houses on a single day.
A successful though complex land assembly programme enabled a comprehensive approach providing a mixed tenure development and introducing cross subsidy to the scheme.
The overall design quality was such that planning consent was granted, even though the density was greater than the local planning policy allowance.
